Smart building automation for a laboratory building at Modellfabrik Papier in Düren

Building automation
Our servicesWe planned and implemented the building automation system (KG 480) for the laboratory building at Modellfabrik Papier. In addition to drawing up the specifications in accordance with HOAI, we integrated modern BACnet IP data communication. The management operating system was connected both locally and centrally to ensure efficient control.
Standard-compliant implementation
Planning in accordance with GEG 2024, VDI 3814, DIN EN ISO 16484, complete coverage of HOAI service phases 1-9
Room automation & control
KNX for lighting control, shading and indoor climate
HVAC control
Modbus TCP/RTU for efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning control
Energy monitoring & consumption analysis
M-Bus for precise consumption data acquisition and optimization
Intelligent building communication
BACnet IP enables seamless communication between different building technologies and offers flexible control and monitoring of systems.
Management operating level
The management operating level serves as a central interface for controlling and monitoring all building automation devices, with a user-friendly interface.
Laboratory control
Laboratory control provides precise control of temperature, humidity and other critical parameters to ensure stable conditions for experiments.
Innovative control solutions for maximum energy efficiency
SMI controls blinds and DALI provides flexible lighting control, enabling precise and energy-efficient control of building technology.
Project partnerITG Hans Pitz GmbH
Budget of the project50.000 €
Duration of the projectMarch 2024 - September 2024
From the initial concept phase through to detailed specialist planning, we developed a tailor-made solution for the laboratory building. All of the building's technical systems were intelligently networked to enable efficient control of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as other technical systems.
Thanks to our forward-looking planning, potential interface problems were identified and solved at an early stage. The building automation system now ensures transparent monitoring and control of the technical infrastructure so that the operators have access to relevant data at all times. In addition, the management operating system was designed so that it can be used both locally and remotely. This ensures a high degree of flexibility in operation and enables a rapid response to changes or faults in the system.
